Hey guys, today’s tip is about layering your kick drums.
Some engineers or even producers frown upon the idea of layering kicks, but that’s usually because most entry lever producers just layer kick on top of kick and just leave it at that. Normally when I layer kicks I mainly have a good reason to do so, example. I may like the top end of one kick, and the bottom on another kick, this is where using your hi pass and lo pass filters can come in really handy. Check out the video below that shows you how it’s done. Thanks for stopping by, until next time Stay Creative
Hey guys, I have been wanting to start a little online quick tips 1 minute IG and YouTube series. I get a lot of questions come at me everyday in the studio and I figured, why not throw these online for anyone else that may have the same questions? Let me know what you think of my plug-in of the week.
Hey guys, here is a helpful tip for you producers and upcoming engineers that will help you get cleaner mixes the moment you start applying this to your tracks. Check it out!
Even if your not at a pro level as an engineer, this alone will make your mixes sound a lot cleaner
Any instruments that shouldn’t be in the lower register of your mix you should roll it off.
Anything that but your bass or main kick drum will layer and build on top of one another and eat up a lot of headroom in your mixes
